AC/DC Open The 2015 Grammy Awards
AC/DC opened the The 2015 Grammy Awards spectacularly for their first appearance ever on the most prestigious awards night of all for the US.
Not only is former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade back in the band for today's performance on the Grammy Awards, he'll also be on board for their Rock or Bust tour.
Slade, whose first tour of duty in AC/DC was from 1989 to 1994, says, "This is an amazing opportunity for me. After all, most people don't ever get to play with their favorite band once, let alone twice! I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support I have been shown personally, on the Facebook page and other social media. Not one comment has gone unread and it has been very humbling."
Slade, who was replaced in 1994 by original drummer Phil Rudd, is taking Rudd's place as he tries to sort out his legal matters back home in New Zealand. Rudd was arrested in November and faces drug possession charges as well as a charge of threatening to kill.
AC/DC's Rock or Bust tour gets under way in April with two performances at the Coachella festival in Indio, California.
