Australian Ninja Warrior SLAMMED Following One Moment
He was the contestant who was disqualified from Australian Ninja Warrior on Sunday night and viewers have been left furious by the decision.
Paul Cashion is a Brisbane-based cabinet maker, who is deaf, and delivered the show’s most heartbreaking moment when he was knocked out of the competition after his foot touched the water on the first obstacle.
Really poor form by the producers of Australian Ninja Warrior to not explain the rules of competition to a deaf contestant! #aussieninja— Dürkõ (@ouninpohja4661) July 16, 2017
However, the verdict took a while to reach Paul, with his stepson Josh signing to him from the sidelines.
They literally just used someone's disability to push the show, and then go and embarrass him like that. Absolutely fucked. #NinjaWarriorAU— Tahlia. (@bvlmabriefs) July 16, 2017
Channel 9 are going to go out and kick a puppy now ... after kicking out the deaf guy for a technicality. #ninjawarriorau— Daveo (@inflammatorydev) July 16, 2017
The clear issue is they production company did not have clear communication in place for the contestant, & they should have #NinjaWarriorAU— Brian MacNamara (@BMac_TLDR) July 16, 2017
Why didn't you make the notification for disqualification hearing impaired friendly?— αℓչιѕн (@tehAlz) July 16, 2017
Why do people want the deaf guy on ninja warrior to get another chance just because he didn't hear the siren? He still hit the water.— × molly × (@xmollyyx) July 16, 2017
Worse television moment I've seen for some time. Your producers humiliated him. Why not edit the part out where his step-son had 2explain?— Natalie (@PAFC_NSWMember) July 16, 2017
'Are you for real, that was the most unwatchable piece of television I've ever tuned in for,' added another.
'You cruel b***ards, should've given the poor deaf bloke another chance'.
We will find out tonight at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
