Everybody Loves Raymond Star Found Dead

In very sad news, Doris Roberts, who is best known for her role in long-running sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond has passed away at the age of 90.

Roberts played the beloved mother Marie Barone in the show, which ran for an impressive nine seasons from 1996 to 2005.

Roberts passed away in Los Angeles on Sunday, TMZ reports. She’s survived by her son, Michael Cannata Jr, from her first marriage. Her second husband, William Goyen, tragically passed away in 1983.

Her impressive career began in 1952 and over the years she enjoyed much success working on projects like Remington Steele, Cagney & Lacey and in an Emmy-winning guest role on primetime drama St. Elsewhere.

However, it wasn’t until the age of 70 that her career truly blossomed, with her hilarious, decade-long role as Ray Romano’s difficult, demanding mother in Everybody Loves Raymond.
