Gogglebox Families Reduced To Tears In This Week's Episode
It was the television moment that stunned households across Australia and the Gogglebox families were no different.
In this week's episode, airing on Network TEN tonight, the usually vocal reality stars were shocked into silence as The Living Room co-host Barry Dubois revealed that his cancer had returned.
Yvie, Lee and the Silberys were all reduced to tears during the segment, with even the usually stoic Keith visibly shaken.
"Good on ya mate," he said. "Jeez, I didn't know he was crook like that.
"Good luck to him. I hope he does well."
Hello friends, I am sure my announcement on The Living Room tonight that my cancer has returned was a shock for many of you. After living six years in remission, it was a shock for my family and I too. The Living Room means more to me than most things on Earth, and it means an incredible amount to be loved by so many people. Thank you so much for all your love and support. It means the world to me. I am going into this battle with the love, support and encouragement of my friends and family, and all of you. I'm going to beat what I have got, and hopefully inspire others to do so too. Baz x
Barry's emotional announcement came at the end of last Friday's show, with his fellow hosts Amanda Keller, Chris Brown and Miguel Maestre comforting him as he became choked up.
"It seems that my cancer has come back, reasonably aggressively now," he explained. "I have what is regarded as multiple myeloma.
"We've got cancer in my body that has created several tumours right through my body.
"I've had two cycles of chemo now and all being well, touching wood, at the end of my third cycle what I'm going to do is a stem cell and bone marrow retrieval and prepare for a transplant."
The heartbreaking moment will air during tonight's episode of Gogglebox, which is broadcast on Network TEN at 9pm.
