Jarrod Speaks Out For First Time Since Bachelorette Dumping

If you tuned in to watch the Bachelorette last night, along with the rest of the country, you’ll know that it was hard to watch Jarrod get dumped by Sophie last night.

The poor guy looked heartbroken as he slowly realised it wasn’t going to go the way he’d hoped for.

Many of us had to turn away from the screen, especially as they filmed him bobbing up and down in the water, weeping, as he returned to his hotel room, alone.

After the finale went to air, Jarrod took it upon himself to post a photo to Instagram.

"This journey has been the most challenging & exciting in my life so far. Through all the highs & lows all I wanted was to be true to myself. Falling in love is such an incredible experience & really is the best feeling in the world. My heart will heal & I wouldn't change a single moment," read the caption.

Coming into this I never thought I'd have the opportunity to get to know such a warm hearted, down to earth, hilarious woman let alone fall in love with her. This journey has been the most challenging & exciting in my life so far. Through all the highs & lows all I wanted was to be true to myself. Falling in love is such an incredible experience & really is the best feeling in the world. My heart will heal & I wouldn't change a single moment. Sophie, thank you. You've helped me to learn so much about myself. Opening up to you & sharing my feelings just felt so natural from our first encounter. I wish you all the happiness in the world, you deserve nothing but love & laughter in your life. @sophiemonk #BacheloretteAU . . . #BacheloretteAU #bachelorette #thebachelorette #thebachelor #bachelor #networkten #ten #TV #fiji #luxury #realitytv #finale #instadaily #instagood #smile #love #sophiemonk

Jarrod called through to speak to 96FM’s Hour of Power hosts Kyle and Jackie O, and opened up more about his heartbreak - and how he feels now, two months later.

"I’m still heartbroken, because you fall for someone so strong, as you guys saw, and when you get told that their heart belongs to someone else, you try to just backpedal and you don’t know what to do. I haven’t been in this situation for a long, long, long time."

Kyle agreed with Jarrod.

"You’re right, when someone says they’re heart belongs to someone else, I can’t think of a more vulnerable feeling," he said.

Jarrod also revealed that he’d be there for Sophie if things didn’t work out with Stu.

"Look, if things didn’t work out for them, and I really hope they do work things out, I’d be there for Sophie as a friend."

Jackie asked if Jarrod would be interested in a relationship with Sophie.

"Look, if the conversation went that way," he said.

"...but at the moment I’m just wishing them all the best."
