Patti Newton Recovering After Fall Lands Her In Hospital

Patti Newton, the 72-year-old wife of media personality Bert Newton, has posted a picture to her Instagram account showing her laid up in a hospital bed after she had a nasty fall at her Victorian home.

Patti has said that she was 'lucky' there was 'no permanent damage' after she took a tumble earlier this week.

Patti is seen flashing a peace sign with a neck brace clearly visible while she recovers.

Patti captioned the image: 'Had a fall and hit my head, I'm so Lucky after Scans no permanent damage, just a sore and glued head.'

She also graciously thanked hospital staff: 'Thank you to the #frankstonhospital they were just wonderful to us xx.'

One of Patti's followers then cheekily commented, 'Chasing the grand kids Patti, that'll do it every time haha!!!'

Patti responded by revealing the true cause of her accident, 'No it was the new puppy Billy.'

It's been a tough time for the Newtons of late after Bert battled a severe bout of pneumonia earlier this year.

After receiving quadruple heart bypass surgery in 2012, Bert this week told New Idea that 'every morning is a bonus' and credited Patti, for his recovery.

'Patti takes extra special care of what I do and particularly what I don't do,' he said.
