Roger Taylor: 'I'm Sick Of Bohemian Rhapsody'

Queen drummer Roger Taylor attended the Q Awards in London last month to collect the Classic Single award for the track, on the 40th anniversary of its release.

However, he has confessed he is sick of hearing the groundbreaking song and wishes Queen's 1981 hit with David Bowie, Under Pressure, had won the honour instead.

Asked if he is tired of hearing Bohemian Rhapsody, he tells Q magazine, "I am. When the video came on (at the awards ceremony) I thought, 'Oh, Christ, don't let the audience sit through the whole thing!' They've all seen it. Certainly I've seen it a thousand times. It's like a bit of wallpaper. We did a lot of other records as well. It's an albatross. But it was a good song. It put us on another level and enabled us to keep making lots of records."

Roger goes on to suggest another Queen song should have won the award instead: "I thought Under Pressure was one of our better songs - although not one of our best recordings. I think if we had recorded it more beautifully it would have been greater than it turned out."
