The BRUTAL Sitcom Death That’s Very Hard To Swallow
A US sitcom has come under fire for the way they, well, fired their leading lady.
Actress Erinn Hayes, who portrayed the loveable wife in Kevin Can Wait (airs locally on Channel 9), was killed-off and mourned in a record-breaking one minute.
The sacking was to make way for a King of Queens reboot, which starred Hayes’ TV-hubby Kevin James and Leah Remini.
The decision came after Remini played a cameo on Kevin Can Wait, and the big-wig TV execs decided their old chemistry was too good to ignore.
The death was played off as a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment.
A short time later there was a scene where Kevin finds a letter from his wife’s gym saying: "Haven’t seen you. We miss you".
Kevin agrees saying, “You know what? So do I.”
BANG. That’s it. OUCH!
We expect nothing less from CBS, the guys who killed off Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men by dropping a piano on his head.
Twitter, of course, has freaked right out.
Never watching #kevincanwait again. Killing off your wife and mother of your children isn't really that funny. Erinn Hayes was hilarious.— Jack Wunschel (@drummerjack) September 26, 2017
They couldn’t have divorced or she got a nursing job overseas? They had to kill off the wife?! #KevinCanWait— Danielle J. (@danjanjohn) September 26, 2017
