First Trailer For New Married At First Sight Drops

Now that The Block has gone to auction, Sophie is no longer a Bachelorette and Matty J is off the market, we have quite the reality television-shaped hole in our lives.

Which means it's the perfect time to tease the upcoming season of Married At First Sight - and tease us Channel Nine did.

The much-talked about series will see 20 contestants paired up in an attempt to find their 15 minutes of fame love by taking a "leap of faith", although most of those partaking seem to be viewing the experience as a last-ditch effort.

Gabrielle, the first bride featured in the trailer, can be heard admitting that she "really really thought [she] would have a partner and have kids and a family" adding that it's "hard" that she's "not there yet".

Her sentiments are echoed by Charlene, whose gorgeous 1940s-inspired bridal look is accompanied by a heartbreaking confession.

"I never thought that I would be nearly 40 and be with nobody," she says.

Groom-wise, we're predicting Mat to be the ladies' favourite this year; looking dapper in a tux, the hunky Aussie tells viewers that he's "definitely lonely" and you can already hear women the country over sitting up a little straighter.

"I want to find someone to grow old with," Mat adds. "I absolutely believe in love at first sight."

The fifth season of Married At First Sight will air on Channel Nine in 2018.
