BIZARRE Theory Claims Kev’s Dad Is To Blame For ‘Home Alone'
It’s that time of the year again where we go on a marathon of all the good Christmas movies.
One classic is definitely Home Alone. The 1990s Christmas comedy launched the acting career of child star Macauley Culkin and has remained one of his most memorable films.
Now, a Reddit user come up with an insane theory.
If you aren’t familiar with the iconic holiday film, the plot centres on eight-year-old Kevin, played by Cuilkin, who is accidentally left behind by his family as they fly off to Paris for their Christmas holiday.
In the film, a temporary power outage which causes the family to oversleep before leaving the house in a rush to get to the airport is blamed for Kevin being left behind.
However, Reddit user @bobcobbie says it's Peter, Kevin's dad, who is really to blame.
In a gif posted to the Reddit Movie Details subreddit thread, it shows Peter binning Kevin’s plane ticket after scooping up a bunch of napkins he used to clean the milk Kevin had spilled during an argument over pizza.
The moment is super blink-and-you-miss-it, especially because the plane ticket is the same colour as the napkins.
But there it is, Kevin’s ticket in the bin.
“Let’s dispel with his fiction that Mr McCallister doesn’t know what he’s doing,” said one Reddit user.
“He hired those two robbers to rob his house without telling them Kevin would be there, with the plan being they would panic and kill Kevin,” said another.
Others thought that perhaps Peter was simply careless: “You’d think a guy who can afford to fly out his entire extended family to Paris on Christmas would be a little more organised with the ticket situation.”
But hey, it's just a theory.
