Coles Will Host A Little Shop Swap Day Across Australia

Move over Shopkins and Pokemon cards, a new collectable is in town and kids across Australia are having an absolute frenzy over them.

Shoppers have been getting their mitts on Coles Little Shop collectables - the miniature versions of grocery items such as Tim Tams, dishwashing tablets and Nescafe Gold, every time they spend $30 at the store, with 30 to collect.

Parents know these things have practically taken over the lives of little ones everywhere (and some grown ups), and many are desperate to do anything to complete their entire set.

And while many people have taken to sites like eBay or formed their own Facebook groups to sell and swap the items, with full sets of the collectables going for $1000 in some cases, it seems that Coles has smelt our desperation and answered our Little Shop prayers.

On Saturday, August 11, participating Coles store across Australia are putting on a four-hour swap season.

So, if you’ve got four tubes of tiny Colgate toothpaste but are missing the all important Weet-Bix box, you can head down to Coles with thousands of other Little Shop fans for a friendly swap meet so that we can all have a shot at collecting them all.

A Coles spokesman told Yahoo7 that they’ve realised just how popular their Little Shop promotion is around Australia and therefore want to do their part to help out their dedicated shoppers.

“We know there are swap groups forming all over the country from Port Augusta in South Australia to Mackay in Queensland all the way to Ellenbrook in Western Australia. In addition, we are holding an official Swap Day in 37 supermarkets across the country on Saturday 11 August.”

Here's where it's happening in WA...

Ellenbrook - 11 Main St, Ellenbrook

Ocean Keys - Ocean Keys Boulevard & Key Largo Dr, Clarkson

Eaton Fair - Cnr Eaton Dr & Recreation Dr, Eaton

Belmont Forum - 227 Belmont Ave, Cloverdale
