Did Lisa Wilkinson's Move To The Project Pay Off?
It was the move that shocked the TV industry late last year when Lisa Wilkinson announced she was leaving The Today Show on Channel 9 for Network 10's news and current affairs program, The Project.
While it's only early days, it looks like the gamble has paid off with the show enjoying its biggest audience EVER.
Ratings from last night's show indicate that at once stage a huge 1.21 million people tuned in to see Wilkinson make her prime time debut.
The show averaged an impressive 583,000 viewers, which was a massive improvement from last year when the Sunday edition of the show was lucky to pull more than 300,000 viewers at any one time.
Network Ten's Chief Content Officer Beverley McGarvey, said they are 'delighted' with the figures produced by Wilkinson's debut.
'We are delighted with how viewers have responded to Lisa Wilkinson's first night as host of The Sunday Project, which had its biggest audience ever last night,'
'Lisa did a wonderful job and we look forward to her joining the rest of The Project team on Thursday and Friday nights.'
Meanwhile over at Lisa's former job at Channel Nine, Georgie Gardner's first week as co-host of Today with Karl Stefanovic was disappointing when it came to the amount of viewers.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Channel Nine is reportedly 'not impressed' with rival Sunrise being ahead of Today by up to 40,000 viewers across five cities all last week.
