‘Mommy Dead And Dearest’ Documentary Will Give You Chills
Crime documentaries seem to have become a new craze since the popularity of shows like 'Making A Murderer' or 'Casting JonBenet'.
For some reason, we can't get enough of them. And despite how creepy they sometimes are, we just can't seem to pull our eyes away from our screens when they're on!
But the latest true crime story that is in the making is seriously going to test the boundaries with how much shocking footage we can actually deal with.
It's called 'Mommy Dead and Dearest and it will be exploring the true story of what we can only call a messed up mother-daughter relationship.
The chilling footage follows the actions that led daughter Gypsy Rose to murder her mother Dee Dee Blancharde after she forced her daughter into faking an illness for her whole life.
It is alleged that Dee Dee Blancharde suffered from a psychological condition known as Munchausen's syndrome by proxy which causes a caregiver to believe that the person they are caring for is sick when they aren't.
It caused Dee Dee to have separation anxiety from her daughter that was so extreme that she would force Gypsy to take seizure medication that caused her teeth to fall out, made her sit in a wheelchair and shaved her head.
As can be seen in this case, Munchausen's syndrome by proxy is thought of as one of the worst forms of child abuse and typically affects women who have a long history of abuse.
Dee Dee told the world that her daughter was dying from diseases like leukemia and muscular dystrophy and was accepting aid from charities like Make-a-Wish foundation in the form of financial donations and holidays.
But, by the time Gypsy had reached her 20s, she was completely fed up with her mother's atrocious deceptions and decided to plot her demise.
Gypsy reached out to a man she had met on an online dating site, Nicholas Godejohn, and with his help, the pair stabbed Dee Dee to death.
The vengeful daughter didn't stop there though, and on June 15 2015, she posted "that B*tch is Dead!" to the joint facebook account that she once shared with her mother.
Police later found Dee Dee's body in her home in Wisconsin. Gypsy is now in a correctional facility in Ohio serving a 10-year sentence.
And now HBO has snatched up photos, interviews and exclusive chats with Gypsy herself to create the story behind this nightmare of a mother-daughter relationship.
'Mommy Dead and Dearest' premiers on May 15th on HBO.
