New Credit Card Fingerprint Technology To Prevent Fraud
Posted on April 21, 2017
Fingerprints are already being used in the technology space, to unlock our smartphones and other devices, but we're yet to see them used in the credit card space, until now.
In the above video, Engadget explains Mastercard's new development in using fingerprint technology for your credit card purchases, a system it aims to roll out globally by the end of this year.
The new technology is said to be an added layer of security rather than an overhaul on how transactions will be made, so your PIN code will still be valid if desired.
But hold on a minute, aren't we all supposed to be paying for items using our smartphones in the future? Who knows, guess we'll just wait and see which technology makes it to mainstream use.
Don't worry, your dodgy local takeaway will still accept cash only, we're sure of that.
