Rio’s Abandoned Olympic Venues Six Months After the Games

It’s hard to believe that the Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics was only six months ago when you look at these images.
Although the city was always ill-prepared to host athletes and fans from around the world, they constructed many expensive and sparkly venues for the games which now lie in ruins.
The Olympic park has been left with murky pools, worn terrain, vandalisation and the seats from the once-iconic stadium have been torn away.
The future of these shockingly neglected buildings remains uncertain, but they’re unlikely to be a high priority among Rio’s long list of coming challenges.
