See What Jack's 'Best Girl' From Titanic Looks Like Now

It's hard to believe that the James Cameron film Titanic will be turning twenty this year.

The movie helped turn Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet into superstars and became the highest grossing film of all time, until it was surpassed by another Cameron directed film, Avatar.

And while everyone fell in love with the main characters of Jack and Rose, there was another character who captured everyone's heart, little Cora.

Played by young actress Alex Owens-Sarno, she dazzled us all with her portrayal of the little girl who Leo’s character Jack takes under his wing.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan, she has recently reminisced about her time working with DiCaprio.

"There was so much of Jack in Leo, definitely. He was very sweet; he was very goofy, absolutely adorable. He always had a smile on his face, it was great."

"My very first scene was one where I’m sitting with Leonardo DiCaprio, and we were drawing in his sketchbook."

"And he sees Rose and then [the actor playing] my dad comes up and says, ‘All right, say good-bye to Uncle Jack’, so he could go off with her."

"If I remember correctly, we were drawing the world, and we were drawing the rain, which was God crying. I have this really weird memory of that."

"…There’s another scene where Leo is drawing me and my dad. We’re looking out at the ocean and he’s drawing us; it’s the scene where he sees Rose for the first time."

"Leo signed that sketch for me, and it was [being kept] safe in a trailer, and someone went in and stole it. I was so upset."

Alex also revealed that as she was so young at the time she was oblivious to the fact that she was hanging out with the biggest heart-throb in the world!

"I didn’t ever really notice that; I wasn’t really paying attention, because I was thinking, ‘This is my new best friend Leo, and he’s so cool’."

"It was funny because, that year - especially after filming - that’s when he was all over theJ-14 magazines. People at school would bring the magazines in and I would be like, ‘Oh, I know him’… You know, like a total little snob. They’d all say, ‘We know you know him! Shut up!’"

Alex's mum even saved the essay she wrote about her experience filming on set, so cute!

Alex is still working as an actress and writer and has an impressive number of Instagram followers, many of whom are keen for her autograph on Titanic memorabilia.

Twenty years later it's amazing to hear these insights from one of the most loved films of all time, and more importantly see that Alex has grown up to be a delightful young woman free of some of the issues that have plagued other child stars.
