IKEA Is About To Be Transformed And YOU Are Going To LOVE It
Could the Swedish flat-pack mothership be changing to be more... pop-up?
Ikea Australia Country manager, Jan Gardberg, spoke to Nine News about the new plans.
"I'm imagining that we are going with smaller format stores, and we will put them where people already are shopping today," he said.
In other words, there's about to be a whole lot of new stores opening in shopping centres and pop-up Ikea stores.
According to Mr Gardberg, there is a major four-point plan and its starting with domestic production in Australia.
This means more jobs and more business for local companies.
"That will help us to lower the prices but still keep the quality," he said.
So what else is in it for you? Cost-price solar panels. WTF, yes.
"We want to be able to give energy solutions and affordable solutions to private people."
Does this mean more meatballs and princess cakes in more stores?
