You Can Literally Get Paid To Be A Professional Cheese Eater
Fed up with your day job? Looking for an exciting change? Well cancel the search because we’ve just found the ULTIMATE job! Unless you’re lactose intolerant that is…
But if dairy suits you just fine then prepare your resume and your body because someone is literally on the hunt to hire a professional cheese eater! Yep, you can literally get paid to eat a bucket load of cheese!
The dream job has been advertised by Manchester company Sorted and it comes with tons of perks other than the fact that you get to eat as much cheddar and brie as you please on a day to day basis.
The job also offers the lucky candidate their birthday off work (although we wouldn’t mind spending our birthday surrounded by the dairy goodness) as well as 40 days of annual holiday leave per year!
The job description says that they’re looking for someone who has “in-depth knowledge of both domestic and foreign cheese” and so finally you have a chance to put all of that knowledge that you’ve learnt over the years of eating grazing plate after grazing plate to good use!
“We’re looking for a fromage-fanatic to join our team as Assistant Director of Cheese,” reads the ad. “The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of both domestic and foreign cheese and will understand how to balance flavours for varying tastes and pallets.
“Beyond cheeses, attention to detail surrounding the wider board is essential. Do you know whether a biscuit, bread or melba toast is the right accompaniment for you board? Is a chutney or a jelly most suitable? Are grapes or tomatoes going to provide the perfect sweet cut-through? All of this knowledge is required to help the Director of Cheese deliver the best Cheesy Tuesday event month on month.”
And as if the news couldn’t get more exciting, the job also requires you to get creative and help develop new and exciting flavours in your “spare time”!
“It’s not easy being cheesy and we don’t just mean some of the team’s questionable playlists,” said the current Director of Cheese Emma Smith.
“I’m in need of an assistant who knows how to Caerphilly create a good cheese (leader) board and doesn’t mind a faint odour following them after work.
“This role isn’t about cheese. It’s about culture; a culture that’s fostered by the people at Sorted – making it a one-off place to be employed that puts its people first.
“Our people are like family. Sorted staff are brave, bold, creative and take risks, so Sorted is a place that truly develops and encourages its talent. And of course, loves a slice of cheese… or three!”

We wonder if they’ll allow you to pair the cheese with some cheeky wine on the job? If we got the role it’d definitely be the first change we'd implement!
