The Baysie Bridge Claims Second Victim In 37 Days
It took just 37 days, but the Baysie Bridge has just proved how hungry it really is.
On Friday, the notorious 3.8-metre bridge claimed its second victim for 2019.
Just after 2pm, the moving truck became wedged in the bridge’s clutches, rendering it useless.
The last time the bridge was struck was January 30.
The bridge, which has not one but two signs declaring its 3.8m clearance, has now been struck a grand total of 10 times in the past 12 months.
In 2017, there were 11 truck v Baysie Bridge incidents.
In 2016, just 6.
In December, it was announced that the Baysie beast would be part of a $146 million Metronet revamp.
