A bridge that connects two small islands near Bali has collapsed, killing nine people and injuring at least 30, according to officials.
The bridge was overcrowded, due to too many people crossing it for a religious ceremony when it collapsed at 6pm local time. Pedestrians and motorcycles are believed to have fallen into the water.
The sea underneath the bridge was less than two metres deep, but many of the victims were crushed by debris.
Police spokesman Brenda Wahyudi said all the victims were local and included three children aged between 3 and 9.
