Dad ‘Ordered Acid Attack’ On Own 3-Year-Old Son
In an alleged attempt to prove his ex-wife couldn’t keep their child safe, a court has heard how a man ordered an acid attack on his own child while shopping for toys.
The 40-year-old father is charged with conspiring to unlawfully or maliciously cast or throw sulphuric acid on or at the boy, with intent to burn, maim, disfigure or disable the minor, or do grievous bodily harm, following a custody battle with his ex-wife.
A UK court was shown the horrifying moment the 3-year-old screamed in agony as he suffered serious burns to his face and arm in July 2018, which was captured on CCTV as he looked for a birthday present with his mum.
It’s understood that the father enlisted six others to help create evidence that showed his estranged wife could not keep their children safe.
The video shows the child pointing at toy footballs with his sibling as a man in a long-sleeved white T-shirt walked past him with his arm extended and an object in his hand.
Seconds later, the child could be seen looking back towards the man before taking off to his mother nearby. He was heard screaming “I hurt, I hurt!”
Sickeningly, the court also heard how the father sent a GIF with the text "Nailed It!" to an alleged co-conspirator, hours after his son had been injured.
The trial, thought to last six weeks, continues.
