Four Men To Face Court Over Horse Shootings
Four WA men have been charged following an incident where several horses were shot near Kalgoorlie.
On January 24, the men had been travelling in convoy of three vehicles when, about 10.30am, they saw a herd of five horses near the roadside on a property.
Police allege the men stopped the vehicles and, using firearms stored in the vehicles, shot the horses before driving away.
Two horses were killed instantly but three others received critical injuries.
The horses were ex-racehorses being kept as pets on a private property in Leinster.
A 22-year-old from Pinjarra, a 20-year old from Bassendean and a 22-year-old from Waroona are due to appear before the Leonora Magistrates Court on April 16.
A 21-year-old from Waroona will appear in the same court on May 14.
