Man Caught Doing 88 Miles Per Hour In DeLorean

A man has been pinged by UK police doing 141.6 kilometres per hour in his car.

Let’s rephrase that.

A Back to the Future fan has been clocked doing 88 miles per hour in his DeLorean.

Now that makes a bit more sense, eh?

Nigel Mills, of Essex, told The Guardian he only took the car out a few times a year and had taken the car, made famous by the Back to the Future film franchise, out for a bit of a “run around” when he was caught speeding.

“I wasn’t trying to time travel,” he said.

Sure, Nigel.

“It was at 11am on Sunday and the road was completely clear.”

In all three Back to the Future movies, starring Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd, the DeLorean needed to reach 88mph to travel through time.

Mr Mills’ case was thrown out as neither officer that pinged him showed up in court.

No word on whether the vehicle had a flux capacitor.
