Perth Boy Falls From Bridge While Watching Avon Descent
A nine-year-old boy has suffered leg injuries after falling from a bridge while watching the annual Avon Descent white water race in Western Australia.
It happened just before lunchtime on Sunday and the boy was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital.
It is unclear how he fell, but it is understood he landed on the rocks below the bridge.
An event emergency services team took around 20 minutes to reach the boy, as the fast-moving rapids made the rescue difficult.
