West Coast Eagles Unveil 'Fierce' New Logo
“Modern” and “fierce” is how Nic Naitanui described West Coast Eagles’ new logo and guernsey at the club’s brand relaunch for the 2018 AFL season.
Upon its unveiling, club CEO Trevor Nisbett said it was the ‘Eagle’ which had inspired the logo, which had been in play for 17 years.
In a statement, the club said the brand change is an opportunity to “presents us in a bold new way ... while still acknowledging the past”.
Nisbett said it was crucial that the club acknowledged its history.
“We think royal blue and gold are the colours of the club,” Nisbett said at the launch of the new design.
Naitanui said the rebrand, with the opening of the Perth Stadium, signalled a "new era".

Both St Kilda and Collingwood clubs also released new jumpers for 2018.
The Pies’ clash guernsey has harked back to the early 1950s and mid-1970s with a predominantly white kit with black pinstripes. Their home jumper remains pretty much the same.
Meanwhile, the Saints also revealed their home and clash jumpers for 2018.
