Woman, Boy Dead After Truck Crashes Into Car Carrying 4 Kids
Police are investigating after a child and woman were killed while sitting in their parked car near Corrigin, about 230 kilometres south-east of Perth.
It’s believed the driver left the woman and four children to get help after their Holden Commodore, that was towing a trailer, ran out of fuel on Sunday night.
A short time later, it was reported that a semi-trailer towing grain, driven by a 46-year-old man, came around the bend of the road and crashed into the rear of the car, killing a 10-year-old boy and 26-year-old woman.
Three children, aged 3, 5 and 8 years old, were flown to Perth Children's Hospital by the RAC Rescue Helicopter.
The 27-year-old driver of the Commodore, a local Corrigin man, was located by police walking along the Brookton-Corrigin Road around 11km west of the town.
Police are currently at the scene and road closures are in place.
