Charlie reveals he has had unprotected sex with two people since receiving his diagnosis but that they “were under the care of my doctor” – but that he has warned everyone else “I’m here to admit I’m in fact HIV positive”.
The Today Show reports that Sheen had trusted the diagnosis with people he thought he could confide in, but has paid out upwards of $10 million to keep the illness a secret, "What people forget is that that's money they're taking from my children," he said about the "shakedowns" he has experienced. "I trusted them and they were deep in my inner circle, and I thought they could be helpful. My trust turned to their treason."
Interviewer Matt Lauer asked Sheen if he was still paying people to keep it quiet “not after today I’m not! I released myself from this prison today.”
Sheen had told his oldest daughter and “it hit her hard and she recovered. “I said sweetie, I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner, I didn’t want to burden you with the stress”.
TMZ have reported that at least “six women have lawyered up in the last 24 hours and plan to sue charlie Sheen for international infliction of emotional distress, fraud, sexual battery - and more”. It is alleged that the women had “unprotected sex with Sheen, as recently as last month and that he did not disclose his HIV status”.
Charlie Sheen’s Doctor has confirmed that he has contracted HIV but “does not have AIDS”, that his HIV levels in his blood are so low at the moment that he’s almost undetectable he cannot pass it on.
Sheen revealed that he takes four pills every day and his doctor said his concern was on battling substance abuse.
Sheen’s outlook is "not great. It will be great again. I'm a survivor. I've been up, I've been down, I've been rich, I've been poor," he said. "It's another chapter in my life but it's not commerce driven. It's socially driven.”.
