Hughesy’s Killer Logies Opening Monologue
Our very own Hughesy opened the 2016 TV Week Logie Awards with a side-splitting opening monologue!
He kicked off the ceremony in controversial style comparing the 60 minutes Beirut Sega to an episode of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
"I'm A Celebrity did so well that Nine decided to do their own version with 60 Minutes: In Beirut," he continued in his monologue making Shane Warne blush "But it didn't go as well because it didn't have Warnie.”
Hughesy didn’t let Warnie off the hook "He's single and ready to mingle. He did so well on I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! That he's doing his own version in his hotel room after the show."
"It's a little different, it's I'm A Celebrity…Get in Here!"
This afternoon we spoke with Shane about last night and Hughesy explained that before the awards he private messaged Warnie on Twitter and made sure he was going to be in the room for the moment.
When questioned about how he took the attention last night Shane responed “It was fine. I don’t mind all that sort of stuff. I love a little bit of mickey-taking. I thought it was funny” He said. “I was a little nit nervous for a second when you starting saying all that stuff but it was fine I had a little giggle”
The support for Hughesy came in thick and fast on Twitter with one saying “Best opening monologue” and another supporter asking for more!
