Madonna’s “Heartbroken Show”

It was meant to be a spectacular evening for Madonna fans but has left some feeling tired and disappointed. “Tears of a Clown” was a free event held at the Forum Theatre in Melbourne ahead of her Australian tour this month.

Our very own Kate Langbroek was there and has described the show as “An honour, it was brilliant, it was diabolical, it was amazing – It was Madonna”.

My girl @alicetookthis saw Madonna in '96. Not like this...

Doors to this exclusive event were scheduled to open at 8:30pm on Thursday night but after lengthy delays the “Queen of Pop” didn’t take to the stage until 12:52am Friday morning by Kate’s account. Until this point fans were left waiting in the rain outside the venue.

The American star opened the show dressed as a clown riding a tricycle, before heading to center stage to read notes from a music stand.

Kate has told us Madonna uttered the words no one wants to hear any artist say at a concert, “Now I’m going to play you my favourite, new song”. Most of the concert Madonna performed songs suited only for her true fans and old album classic no one else has heard.

Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour kicks off at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday March 12th then heads to Brisbane followed by Sydney.
