Bill Shorten On AFL, Tattoos & John Farnham Lyrics
Federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten was met with nothing but the tough questions when he dropped into 96FM on Wednesday morning.
He probably knew the type of interrogation he was in for when Paul informed him that he would play ‘bad cop’ and, because Lise was broadcasting from Bali, she would play ‘soft cop’.
“It’s bad and good, by the way,” he told Paul with a smirk.
“No one’s called me a soft cop before, ever,” Lise said.
“I picked up on that,” Shorten replied.
Paul kicked off with his first hard-hitting question.
“Does it make it tough to drive the nail into Malcolm Turnbull’s leadership stability coffin when a former Labor PM in Kevin Rudd continues to rubbish you on Twitter?”
Shorten’s answer was complex and thorough.
“No, it doesn’t,” he said.
Soft cop Lise jumped in to ask Shorten’s thoughts on the Optus Stadium.
“It’s an elegant looking stadium, I guess $1.8 billion you’d want something good,” he said.
This, of course, opened up the conversation to AFL.
