Not One, Not Two, But THREE Perth Sex Toy Heists IN ONE WEEK
Perth, we have an “epidemic” on our hands. A sexy epidemic.
Not once, not twice, but for the third time, sex toys have been at the centre of a string of thefts.
And not just three times, but THREE TIMES THIS WEEK.
For one Northbridge outlet, Libido, it’s the second time they’ve been stung.
The owner of the James Street store filed a report with police alleging that two women pinched a sex toy from his store on Saturday.
One of the women in the CCTV appears to hide the $90 bedroom power tool in the basket of the other woman’s mobility scooter.
The West’s Ben O’Shea told Paul & Lise on Friday that one incident might be a funny yarn, and two is disturbing.
“But when you got three in a week, I think it’s a full-blown epidemic.”
Earlier this week, three people made off with $240 worth of sex toys from Lovers Adult Store in Midland.
Lovers’ Karl Frost told The West the trio swiped two vibrators, worth $100 each, and an eight-inch dildo, worth $40, before they took off in what’s believed to be a maroon-coloured ute.
Frost said the store was regularly hit by five-finger discounters, costing the chain more than $10,000 a year.
“I’d rather spend that money on improving the customer’s experience and in the long run it is unfortunately going to affect our prices,” he said.
Earlier this week again… two women were charged with stealing high-end vibrators worth about $600 from, again, the Libido adult store in Northbridge.
Store owner Garry Smith told The West at the time that, on average, $2500 worth of goods were stolen from Libido every six months.
