Perth Bloke Blames Auskick Fight On Threesome

A three-way was what sparked a fight which broke out during a kid's footy game, a Perth court has heard.

Matthew Roy Chalmers pleaded guilty to aggravated common assault and was fined $800 for starting the fight at Piara Waters Pavilion in June last year.

He claimed the victim had been involved in a threesome with his partner.

Young Auskickers and their parents had been listening to the coach when Chalmers pushed the guy from behind.

It wasn’t long after some “heated” words that Chalmers slapped him, and the pair ended up wrestling on the ground.

The fight was split up by bystanders and Chalmers was moved away. However, a bunch of dads and a coach had to tackle and hold him down after he ran “at full speed” towards the victim, who was on the phone to the cops.

In court, when he was asked what sparked the incident, Chalmers said the “bloke was having a threesome” with his partner.

“I regret it every day, mate,” he said, to which Magistrate Brian Mahon said he should never call a magistrate “mate”.

Paul & Lise weren’t in the courtroom, but on Wednesday morning, they had a ton of follow-up questions.

“But how did he know?” said Paul.

“Maybe there was an identifying, like birthmark, that he saw?” Lise replied.

“Was he the third party?” Paul continued.

“I wouldn’t have thought,” speculated Lise, “I think his partner had a three way with this other guy and maybe another girl or maybe another guy… I don’t know.”

Lise explained that while the judge could see how the matter arose, it should not have been dealt with in front of children as it was an “adult matter”.

She then dropped a pearler.

“So where do you deal with a guy having a three-way with your partner? Where is the right place to deal with that?”
