Nick 'Honey Badger' Cummins Confirmed As The Next Bachelor
Former Western Force and Wallaby champion, Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins has been confirmed as the next Bachelor.
The Honey Badger, 30, renowned for his Aussie larrikin way with words, has been single for about 18 months.
In a press release, Channel Ten went to town over why they selected the ‘Badgelor’.
“Physically striking, successful and smart, the sporting talent of this wild-haired winger, Nick’s wicked sense of humour and his distinctive, witty one-liners have made him a hero, both on and off the field,” the statement said.
(And yes, we’ve included some of them in the video up top)
Cummins said he was “really looking forward to throwing everything at this opportunity” to find ‘the one’.
“The past 10 or so years has been on the road playing rugby or working on my projects, so I’m very excited to be part of a show that is centred around love and good times.”
But Cummins isn’t just a sporting star.
On Thursday, Paul & Lise highlighted some of his off-field attributes, which included why he decided to leave the Western Force in Perth.
“We lost him when he signed a contract to go play union in Japan,” Lise said.
“He did that for his family.”
Cummins is one of eight, his two younger siblings have cystic fibrosis.
“He went to earn more money in Japan because they pay big, big money for union, so he left the [Western] Force to do that.”
The series is expected to air this year.
