Quit Targa West is a tarmac car rally where up to 70 classic and modern cars compete on roads that are closed for competition over 4 days at various location in Perth and the surrounding areas.
Cars range from classics such as Ford Escorts and Capris to Holden Torana's and Commodores and old Porsche's through to modern machinery like WRXs, Evos, Lotus, Ferraris and occasionally a Lamborghini.
With a mix of ages from 1964 through to 2017 there is literally something for everyone to admire and Jim Richards / Barry Oliver's brand new Shannons Porsche GT3RS is certain to be a crowd favourite.
The entire event is free to watch, so come get up close and personal with your favourite rally cars:
THURSDAY - 10th August 2017
The City of Perth host the Ceremonial Start in Forrest Place. All the competing cars will be on display from 10:30am prior to the Ceremonial Start at 1.00pm. The cars will then be heading to Wanneroo for their first competitive stage, before ending the night in Malaga.
FRIDAY - 11th August 2017
After the day’s competitive stages at Whiteman Park, the action then heads to the infamous Kalamunda Zig Zag and Mundaring Weir before the cars head back into Northbridge where the cars will be on display from 6pm on James and Lake Street. At 9.00pm, cover your ears as all the cars participate in 30 seconds of sensational sound with V8s and screaming 4 cylinders revving!
SATURDAY - 12th August 2017
The action heads further afield to Toodyay, Chittering and Bullsbrook.
SUNDAY -13th August 2017
Head down Langley Park for a family friendly spectacle of cars and motorsport where you will find 300+ cars on display that make up the Shannon’s Classics. Or if you are after some higher-octane action on Targa City Sprint kicks off at 9:30am where 60 cars will compete against the clock, using a unique layout of Victoria Road, the Terrace Road Car Park, Governors Avenue and Riverside Drive as a purpose-built track.
At midday, the Targa cars descend on the City of Perth Special Stage for the grand finale of the 2017 Quit Targa West.
