The late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek’s cut his wife out of his will, saying that she “abandoned” him.

He and Paulina Porizkova split in 2018 after 28 years of marriage but were not legally divorced. Despite this, they remained in close contact.

Despite this, the now-public document reveals Ocasek’s wish to leave nothing to her.

“I have made no provision for my wife Paulina Porizkova (“Paulina”) as we are in the process of divorcing,” Page Six reported.

“Even if I should die before our divorce is final … Paulina is not entitled to any elective share … because she has abandoned me.”

The document was dated August 28, 2019, around the time he underwent surgery and before Porizkova and their two sons spent his final days together in their New York apartment.

Porizkova has since responded that she learned about the will change the day after Ocasek died.

I’ve known about the will since the day after Ric passed. All you have heard from me since- is inspite of that. #loveneverdies

Porizkova found Ocasek shortly after he died on September 15 after he had been recuperating from said surgery.

It’s understood he died suddenly as a result of heart disease, made worse by emphysema.
