If you are invited to the White House, you can usually expect some delicious food to accompany your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
But, that hasn’t happened for College Football champions the Clemson Tigers as the U.S Government shutdown has hit them, too.
You see, what usually happens is the White House’s full-time chefs cook for the guests but as they are not currently getting paid to work, there was no food ready for the football team when they arrived.
Apart from an ‘all American feast’ that Donald Trump said he had paid for with his own money.

Amongst the food was McDonald’s, Wendy’s and pizza, with Trump saying “Because of the shutdown, as you know… we went out and we ordered American fast food paid for by me.”
“I think they’d like it better than anything we could give.
“We have pizzas, we have 300 hamburgers, many, many French fries, all of our favourite foods – I want to see what’s here when we leave, because I don’t think it’s going to be much,” the president mused.
President Trump said he was personally paying for the meals provided to Clemson for their White House visit, due to the government shutdown. Trump told reporters that he was serving “McDonalds, Wendy’s and Burger King with some pizza.” https://t.co/q8kxNRy1pa pic.twitter.com/iGXzrD32F0

“We want to make sure that everything is right, so we sent out, we got this.”
The choice of food seemed to go down well with the team, with many seen to be eating heaps of burgers!
