A fast-moving, out of control and unpredictable bushfire is threatening lives and homes and has forced the evacuation of a school in Perth’s southeast.
An emergency warning was issued for the southern part of Forrestdale on Thursday afternoon.
Firefighters are on the scene and aerial support has been sent to protect crews and homes.
Students and staff from Forrestdale Primary School have been evacuated to Neerigen Brook Primary School.
Several roads have been closed including Forrest Road, where the fire started near the Tonkin Highway intersection.
The blaze has also prompted a watch and act alert for neighbouring suburbs Piara Waters and Harrisdale.
