The annual Forbes billionaire list has been released and it includes a record-breaking 2755 billionaires.

For the 4th year running, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was at the top with $177 billion, followed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk in second with $151 billion.

Bill Gates sits in 4th place with $124 billion and rounding out the top 5 is Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg at $97 billion.

The richest woman on the planet is cosmetic giant L’Oreal’s Françoise Bettencourt Meyers at 73.6 billion.

WA Mining magnate Gina Rinehart remains as Australia’s richest, ranking 70th with $23.6 billion.

Another well-known West Aussie on the list, Andrew ‘Twiggy’ Forrest currently sits at #87 with $19.1 billion.

Forbes reported that Kim Kardashian is now worth a bil, up from $US780 million in October. Her surge in wealth is thanks to two lucrative businesses – KKW and Skims – as well as cash from reality TV and endorsement deals, and a number of smaller investments.

Notable drop-offs from the list include another Kardashian-Jenner family member, Kylie Jenner.
