“Winter is coming”

HBO has just dropped its final trailer for the eighth season of its flagship fantasy series teasing the iconic final battle every fan of the show has been waiting for. 

The latest video opens with young assassin Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) running for her life, as she talks about being ready to face death.

I know death, he’s got many faces. I look forward to seeing this one,” she says in the opening voiceover. 

From here we see the armies preparing for battle and Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) staring in admiration as dragons soar above.


We’re then shown Jon Snow (Kit Harington) who addresses the upcoming White Walker battle, saying: “They’re coming. Our enemy doesn’t stop, doesn’t tire, doesn’t fear.” 

The trailer also features characters like Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Tyron Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), Varys (Conleth Hill) and Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), as the psychic Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) tells Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) that fate has led them to this point of the show. 

“Everything you did, put you where you are now. Where you belong: home.”

The final series of ‘Game of Thrones’ debuts Monday, April 15 on Foxtel.
