New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has just proven once again why she is a straight-up legend.
The NZ PM was lining up at a supermarket when the customer ahead of her realised she had forgotten her purse, the NZ Herald reported.
Ardern simply stepped in and paid for the woman’s shopping herself.
The woman later recounted her interaction on Facebook:
“Just when you think Jacinda Ardern couldn’t get any more lovely, low key and authentic…. she goes and pays for your groceries at the supermarket, because you’ve got your shopping, have two kids with you and are about to put it all back as you forgot your wallet.”
Great article. Also, like we didn’t love her enough, @jacindaardern paid for my friends’ shopping in the supermarket the other day when she had forgotten her purse and had two screaming kids in tow. SIGH! https://t.co/wsu0ukcJmB

Ardern confirmed the story on Thursday.
She was asked why, and she replied: “Because she was a mother”.
The NZ prime minister’s salary is reportedly $471,049.
