As WA confirms its sixth day in a row of no new coronavirus cases, Premier Mark McGowan has teased an announcement involving restriction loosening.

The hint came off the back of the National Cabinet Meeting on Tuesday, where border-talk, particularly involving New Zealand was discussed.

McGowan told Botica’s Bunch that “the way out” was also discussed, to the point where he might have something official to say about it by the weekend.

“Later this week, perhaps on the weekend, I’ll have the opportunity to announce further changes, maybe soften some of the restrictions.”

He added that it would be dependant on some things such as health advice and continuing low infection.

“If possible, that’s what we’ll do.”
