A popular Melbourne pub is under fire after it ripped out a playground and replaced it with an iPad station.
The Sandringham Hotel recently had a renovation done on it’s dining area and at the same time has removed its play equipment, replacing it with multiple free screens for children.
Pub manager Erson Carbajosa has confirmed the news, saying they have made the move to try and “get new customers”.
“We’ve had people complaining about not having a kids’ area but things change,” Mr Carbajosa said.
The pub believes the iPads are well used and while they have had complaints about the playground being removed, they’ve had no issues regarding the iPads.
“Look, we’ve got colouring sheets if they don’t want the kids to go to the iPad station, they’ve got options,” Carbajosa said.
