Family and friends of model and actress Annalise Braakensiek have gathered at her beloved Bondi Beach to pay tribute her after she was found dead in her Sydney apartment earlier this month.
The mourners sang songs, meditated and swam at the iconic beach as the sun rose in a touching memorial.
The tribute started as hundreds came together to practice meditation as the sun rose just before 6am.
This was followed by a prayer before surfers headed out to create a huge honorary circle and offer a frangipani wreath to the ocean.
Among those paying tribute were Annalise’s mum Veera, as well as her sister and brother as well as her ex-husband Danny Goldberg and his family.
46-year-old Annalise was found in her Potts Point unit on January 7, after her friends and family raised concerns after not hearing from her for a number of days.
Braakensiek split from stockbroker husband of 16 years, Danny Goldberg, last April and had shared her troubles on social media, telling fans of a “turbulent year” and that “everything seems to feel twisted and upside down at the moment”.
