Ross Wilson has been announced as the 2020 ambassador for Record Store Day next month.

Best known for heading up bands like Daddy Cool and Mondo Rock and written Aussie hits like Eagle Rock and A Touch of Paradise, Wilson is a self-confessed vinyl hound.

“Once you start it’s hard to give it up,” he said.

“To wonder at the awesomeness of a needle in a microgroove that somehow becomes full spectrum sound – it’s magic.

“So, I’m very pleased to have been anointed as one of 2020’s Record Store Day Ambassadors.”

In its 13th year, more than 200 indie music stores around Australia will celebrate their role in the music industry. Last year 85,000 visited a store on the day.

Limited edition vinyl and CD releases will be offered in all stores supporting Record Store Day which will be held this year on Saturday, April 18.
