Radiohead are getting in the festive spirit this year and launched a virtual holiday card series on their website. Fans can choose from themes including “FA LA LA,” “LA-LA,” and “LAA.” The interior sentiments include “EVERYTHING IS ROSY,” “IN LIEU OF EMPTINESS,” “HOPE FOR THE FUTURE,” and other sweet yet melancholic messages.

“This festive card is for you to make and send to acquaintances new and old,” reads a note on the band’s website. “No element of data placed onto it will be stored by Radiohead.”

“Right now, I just feel this: I hope you are all safe and well and not too scared, or too bored,” Jonny Greenwood wrote in a holiday message to fans. “I also hope that somehow we can be part of making music for you soon, and that the pleasure of making music, and hearing music, whether in a gig, concert hall, church, or at home with friends—is not forgotten in this desolate year.”

Comparing the year to a Ray Bradbury story—“I forget the title now (though Colin would remember. I’ll Zoom him later)”—Greenwood continued, “Murder and solitude—and… happy zmas.”

Radiohead was planning a 2021 tour before the coronavirus pandemic hit, so we’ll see what’s in store for the band next year.
