In the early ‘90s, Southern Sons were a constant on the Aussie charts.

Their debut single ‘Heart in Danger’ raced up the charts, peaking at number 5 on the ARIA chart before the single ‘Always and Ever’ was released – as well as their debut self-titled album, Southern Sons peaked at number 5.

In March 1991, ‘Hold Me in Your Arms’ was released, peaking at number 9.

What was also a constant was the comparison between lead singer Jack Jones and John Farnham.

The Bunch caught up with Jones ahead of his appearance as part of The Fabulous Caprettos, which include Daryl Braithwaite, Russell Morris and Thirsty Merc’s Rai Thistlethwayte… and reflected on the pressure that came with such a monumental comparison…

The Fabulous Caprettos will perform at the Astor Theatre on May 22.
