Rock royalty Roger Waters has torn strips off one of the world’s richest men over repeated attempts to buy music rights.

Waters launched the attacks on Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg after he revealed that the company sought to buy the rights to Pink Floyd’s ‘Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)’ for an Instagram ad.

The Pink Floyd bassist told a crowd at a pro-Julian Assange event that he was attending that he had just turned down a “huge amount of money”.

“It’s a missive from Mark Zuckerberg to me with an offer for a huge, huge amount of money, and the answer is “f*** you, no f***ing way,” Waters said, before going on to predict the social media company’s end goals.

“I only mention that because this is an insidious movement of them to take over absolutely everything.”

He went on to remind his audience about the original purpose of Zuckerberg’s idea for Facebook.

“How did this little pr**k who started off by saying, “She’s pretty, we’ll give her a four out of five; she’s ugly, we’ll give her a one,” how did he get power in anything?” he went on to ask.

“And yet here he is, one of the most powerful idiots in the world.”
