Alt-metal act Tool have decided to outright cancel their US tour dates and fully refund fans.

The band’s short US tour, set to run from April 16 through June 23, was originally postponed but explained their decision to cancel in a new statement that “tying up our fans’ money for months, if not a full year, is unfair.”

They expressed hope that they could return to the road “when the time is right.”

Tool had been touring in support of their 2019 album, Fear Inoculum, which marked their first LP in 13 years.
