It’s pretty simple: Netflix puts new movies on their streaming service, skirting the need to go to the cinema to check out new releases.
Well, that’s until now.
Three new films The Irishman, Marriage Story and The Two Popes are earmarked for cinematic release before they appear online.
The Irishman debuted last week at the New York Film Festival to rave reviews, with Martin Scorsese’s film now set to make it to the big screen on November 7 before hitting Netflix on November 27.
Having a theatrical release means they can then be considered for an Oscar nomination.
