Perth nightclub and place of questionable late-night decision-making, the Hip-E Club, was reported as copping half a million dollars in fire damage, but did they?
News outlets reported that fireys had been called to the Leederville club about 9am on Sunday, and 7 News Perth reporter Rory Campbell said firefighters could be seen dragging furniture out of the building.
But in a post on Facebook, the Hip-E said that the venue was trading as normal (complete with no less than nine exclamation points) and were looking forward to seeing club-goers on Tuesday night.
They did note that The Manor, located behind the Hip-E, was damaged.
No one was injured as 29 firefighters took just under an hour to bring the fire, wherever it was, under control.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the blaze was being treated as accidental.
